    Dommie Mommie host her 3rd net working event 

On Sunday March 8th entrepreneur and bartender Dommie Mommie hosted her 3rd networking event. It was a wonderful turn out 22 vendors an she even had vendors from other cities come. When I came in off the bat I noticed everyone socializing, dancing, and eating food prepared by one of the vendors @ty_thecook. The event place was very spacious well decorated and she had a Dj as well. From my observation everybody enjoyed their time ,made money , met some new people, and potential business partners. There were about 12 different businesses involved in the net working event. They were Liquor, lingerie, cosmetics, lashes, food, clothing, accessories, health products and more. 

Dommie’s event was a huge success  and she even had the voice for the voiceless (Fareed Abdullah ,who’s running for state representative on April 28th )attend her event. Her first event she had 8 people attended and the 2nd  had 22.

I asked her what made her want to expand the mix and mingle events an she stated. “The demand so many people are looking to either expand or start their own businesses so you can imagine how many people hit me up on a daily about becoming potential vendors. I want to give people a chance which is why I expand an continually have them.” Another question I asked her was did she realize the importance of what she was doing for the entrepreneurial community? She told me “yes I realize the importance I was more sure when everything came into fruition. I had people from out of town come to the city just to attend my event, and a state representative. Also I had a bunch of men and women come together under one roof for something positive and to watch everyone connect with one another an get their business out there is amazing to me an that’s what I do it for.” I asked her did she plan on making being a network event holder one of her businesses and she told me it already was her business she’s known for helping people one way or another way before the pop up shops even came along even with her bartending school that’s helping people garner another hustle and extra income among other things. The last question I asked her was what advice did she have to somebody looking to start their own business her advice. “Go for it there is so much power in being able to generate for yourself by yourself. But to only being a entrepreneur if your heart is truly in it not because you see it’s something a lot of people are doing entrepreneurship is not for the weak and success is only fueled by passion. If your only in it for the money you’ll only go but so far so make sure whatever idea/ venture you have is solely for those purposes in this life style it takes money to make money so don’t waste money. 

@monetmonroelvh a Mother motivated by her 2 daughters whom she teaches how to run a business. They were at the mix an mingle with their mom on the 8th helping their mom an learning at the same time. She sells Luxe Virgin hair , cosmetics, lipgloss, lipstick lipliner,  and eyelashes.

I ran into Fareed Abdullah running for state representative who was there observing an fraternizing with his peers an we talking about the importance of events like this. He stated this is important because it’s highlights black entrepreneurship an as a legislator that’s what we need to do more of helping one another business. His first year he plans to take funding of his own an try to put money back into our community instead of holding it to ourselves. He also had a message for the youth an anybody who wishes to be a entrepreneur stay in school get as much education as possible an follow your dream.  I sat with self taught chef @ty_thecook who came an set up shop with his Team and he told me he got into cooking because he was always dissatisfied with the food he’d get when he went out. So he taught himself how to cook an built a business during. His dream is to open up a catering company an a private chef company. Ty and his (dream team) his sister, and wife Set up a beautifully prepared Thai chili wings, honey hot wings, Krazy lump crab meat over jasmine rice, Shrimp & Muscles, Mac and Cheese, and Collard Greens. Not only was it’s prepared beautifully but the taste was out of this world he is highly recommended. He is looking to get in to private dinners so if you’re ever looking he’s available.

I asked her how did she get into entrepreneurship and fashion an she told me, she got the idea from her sister who recently passed “she always wanted to be a business so I wanted to do it for her. @theposhpreneur a entrepreneur with multiple businesses but on this day she was there wit her health an fitness business. A business that sells vitamins, powders, and juices that help you gain or lose weight. She said that she had been a entrepreneur since the age of 10 her parents who are successful business owners as well taught her the business. They never worked for anybody in their life so they’ve always told me to make sure I have my own. 

I asked her what was she motivated by her response I’m motivated by her kids and helping people. I asked her what was she inspired by she stated she was inspired by herself her determination and work ethic an also adversity. People like this who genuinely loves helping people come a dime a dozen an I’m am glad to have met her. Just seeing the love she gets from her family an friends let’s me know that she has a strong support system. In conclusion I would like to commend Dommie for what she is doing for others everyone doesn’t have that help people mentality. We share that same mentality which is why the first event I held was a food and clothing give away for the homeless and less fortunate. An   also why I came up with the whole magazine concept a huge promotion outlet for entrepreneurs across the city which is also a business collaboration we all can help each other business isn’t a game for the small minded. You have to expand your horizons branch out collaborate with other businesses do pop up shops the only way your business will be successful is if you put the work in no matter the idea. Any one who came to her event can see the positive effect she has on others. Not only did she bring out her city but she brought out people from others. No doubt that one day she’ll be a world renown entrepreneur until then keep up the fantastic work and putting on for ya city.
