Sip & shop

On October 24,2020 at 12 pm  Shida the owner of

applehead_creations held a Sip & shop for “Boss babes” A networking event for women empowerment. The outcome was huge this was her first networking event but it won’t be her last. She’s hosting another event November 29th. She had a total of 20 vendors all women with a verify of different businesses accessories, lashes, food, cosmetics and more. Applehead_creations her self had an al wide selection of products to choose from Sock, hand bags, pocket books, waist beads, glass, belts and much more. If your a loyal reader you may remember Apple head creations from the first net working event i did she was a vendor an she told me that she’d soon be a host an that she is. That’s how you manifest your goals.

A little bit about Shida. Shida is 28 years old grew up in West Philadelphia she grew up a loner always knew a lot of ppl but never had many friends. She preferred to be in her own world most of the time. Her brother always was my BFF not really close with her mom  never really had that mother daughter bonding her dad and i always been tight my number one supporter. when she was younger her grandma always taught her most of the crafty things i know  how to sew, and how to paint she did it all and she’s very thankful for her she always understood her and pushed her to be the best she could be. “She passed this year and she didn’t really get to see me shine and honestly that’s okay cause i know she looking down on me and she is the reason I’ll keep fighting every battle with a smile”. As a good friend of Shida’s there’s no doubt in my mind that she’s making her grandmom proud.

She had a lot of support from her friends and family if it wasn’t buying something it was helping or just bringing through friends to buy. One of her friends event took the liberty took walk around the neighborhood an tell all the businesses that she was having a pop up shop if that’s not support I then idk what is. When she had walk around the venue an check on things her friends even took over her table so that she wouldn’t miss any customers.

She picked an excellent place for the event a lot of pedestrians walking by observed the event an came in to look an shop. Great music great vibes the aroma of the food touches your nose as soon as you hit the front door. The event was help at  modern day studio an it was on the first and second floor vendors every where.  Some of the vendor were having raffles for people who could win free stuff such as lashes, edibles, and weed butter.

During the event I got to sit down an interview Shida I first asked her how long has she been an entrepreneur she stated that she’d been a business owner since 2015. This isn’t her first business venture she started off by using her creative mind to make custom baskets then expanded her business to waist beads, and hand painted pocketbooks. Her biggest challenge at the time was putting her self out there also getting over her anxiety and being herself. She began because of her creativity but didn’t know if she’d be successful at first she just wanted to see if people would like what she had to offer once she saw that they did she had to continue. She held this event so that she could bring a bunch of hard working women or in her words “boss babes” together because it is important to her for women to up lift one another and support each other women are the glue that holds the world together. She is building a empire so that one day she could pass it down to her biggest motivation her daughter. With the support of her closest friends an biggest supporter her father she’s on her way to her short term goal of opening up at boutique. The funny part is she didn’t even want to be a business owner growing up her interest was always to work with kids until with the help of her grandma god rest  her soul she discovered how creative she was an that this was the lane for her. Some of her methods to gain more business exposure are Instagram, raffles, coupon codes, an events like the ones she hosted. She now has 4 different businesses all under one company Custom baskets , waist beads, hand painted pocket books, and now she’s added event holder to her resume. I asked her who would you like to thank for helping you get where you are today her daughter being the first because she’s her inspiration, motivation an one of her biggest supporters she’d also like to thank her girlfriend LaShana she’s been her biggest help while vending.

Her dad as all and her closet friends for being there every step of the way buying, posting, and helping her when she needed it. All in all the event was a huge success an it was only the first of many to come if you missed this one don’t worry she’s having another one November 29th because of all the people who reached out before this event transpired. Her last words were words of wisdom to any women out there who wants to start a business but may be afraid or waiting for the right time “just do it” you’ll never know if it’ll work unless you try. We at the Philly street magazine believe in Shida and we can’t wait to see what she has in store for the future but for now make sure you come through to her event on November 29th.
